Full Moon:Mar. 7th

Mercury - Not visible this month
Venus - Visible in the evening sky, first in Pisces, then Aries
Mars - Visible in the evening sky in Taurus
Jupiter - Visible in the evening sky in Pisces until the last week of the month
Saturn - Rises in the morning sky in the second half of the month in Aquarius

The March Full Moon is the Worm Moon.

Daylight Saving Time begins on March 12, Spring forward

The Vernal Equinox is at 17:25 EDT on March 20th

On the evening of March 24th, the 4 day old crescent Moon is only a little more than a degree from Uranus. You should be able to view them together in a wide-angle Field of View of binoculars or a small telescope.

Announcements:

The March club meeting will be Monday, March 6th.

Tish Wright will give a presentation about her recent travels to Iceland to see the Northern Lights.

Dan Malone will be at Kennedy Library in Munice on Monday, March 20th at 10am. He'll be giving a talk about solar eclipses. Everyone is welcomed.

Dan is also planning to hold public observing sessions at Mounds State Park on Saturdays each month near the new moon from April to October. Here are the dates, but more information will be provided later: 4/22, 5/20, 6/24, 7/15, 8/19, 9/16 and 10/14. Note that the 10/14 event is a daytime event to view the partial solar eclipse.
